I was thrilled when our school purchased an online reading program to support our students' efforts to improve their reading. It was exciting to hear my children discuss the program together; comparing the stories they'd read and how they were using the incentive points they'd earned to create and decorate cartoon robots. But I soon noticed that many of those struggling the most to read were not a part of these discussions. They were not signing in at home at all. Subsequently, I learned that it was because they lacked access to the necessary technology. Your donation would ensure that ALL of my students have access to the engaging support resources that will build confident, lifelong readers. With these tablets, EVERY child will have small-group time dedicated to reading entertaining and educational stories at his/her own level. The activities will reinforce comprehension and fluency skills taught in the classroom and the children will all be able to participate fully in those important robot-building discussions!
