The subscription to Time for Kids will allow my students the opportunity to explore and appreciate the world beyond their community. As is the case for so many low-income families, many students are often very limited in their exposure to countries, customs, cultures, histories, and current events outside of their immediate surroundings. This subscription will broaden their understanding of the bigger world. In addition, the subscription will provide students with the opportunity to practice their expository text reading skills. Comprehension of expository texts is often a struggle for many students at this age which makes Time for Kids an excellent resource for them to strengthen this skill.
