My first graders are digital citizens but our classroom lacks specific technology that would supplement all of the awesome learning that takes place. With these tools, the class would be able to share their work in a bright and beautiful way. A projector and document camera will enhance instruction by giving them access to countless digital lessons that will increase their exposure to core content. In addition to academics, this technology would be used to help us connect with our community through Google Hangouts with classroom pen pals and virtual field trips.
Many of my students do not have access to technology, so having a document camera and a projector in our first-grade classroom would completely change my students' learning experience. These tools will help me foster collaboration. It would allow me to use every available educational resource to enhance student engagement and learning.
I value educational technology and the incredible impact it has on student learning. This project being funded would mean so much to my first-graders. It would equip them with experience and skills to become 21st-century leaders.
