My school is located in a neighborhood called Little Haiti and most of the students are raising in a variety of cultural environment. As a community rich in diversity, we decided to start a project about stories from 2 different cultures, how are them relate to each other what is different what is similar and celebrate the diversity. Our school is a dual Language magnet school and the project will connect literacy, Haitian , English, culture and art. Our goal is to produce children books based on folklore from Haiti and USA, and have the students illustrating the stories. The press will allowed us to develop different printmaking techniques and also make an edition of the illustrated books as a handmade book.
