Scholastic Scope Magazine will enhance my students awareness of civic, current and historical events. The focus of my project is to increase my students' knowledge of informational text. The magazines will be utilized to engage the students in rich conversation about current and historical events. The students will utilized the magazines to write argumentative essays in which they will support their argument with textual evidence from Scholastic Magazine and other sources. Scholastic Scope Magazine will increase my students' interest in becoming avid and fluent readers. As the students readily read more, his or her self-esteem will increase steadily. Growing persistent , powerful, and tenacious readers is my goal for the school year 2018-2019.
