My students are eager to learn and improve their reading skills, and it is my job as their ELA teacher to supply them with the necessary materials to do so. Each quarter, my students are required to read two independent choice books. Having a well-stocked classroom library will help my students find books to read outside of class. This will not only help them complete the required independent reading, but it will help improve their reading, fluency, and comprehension skills as well. My students are reading at all different levels; therefore, my classroom library needs a wide variety of books for them to choose from. In order to meet every child's need, I will need books ranging from below to well-above grade level. With these new additions, my students will be able to easily find a book within their read level and work towards bettering themselves as readers.
