My students mostly come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of these students do not get to explore science through hands-on learning. They get so excited about science when we are going to do a hands-on activity. Our class has 66% of students receiving free lunches. Many of their parents cannot afford to take them to museums, or send them to classes in the summer where hands-on instruction is given.
