These computers will allow more children daily access to downloaded reading texts targeted for their own reading levels. First grade is a crucial time to instill a love of reading and using these computers to tap into my students excitement for technology time will glean possibilities for limitless returns in their learning piggy banks. This allows increased reading time per student to reach my goal of half an hour of daily technology reading time for every child in my class. Literacy can make or break a student in subsequent years. Many of my students have personal goals to move up from a below grade level reading level to a 1st grade or higher reading rate!
