Learning about color is integral to any elementary art program. One of the most fun ways to use color and manipulate its properties is through painting. Young children love to paint but it can be messy! With proper smocks and durable brushes, my students will be better able to explore techniques such as water color resist, using primary colors to make secondary and tertiary colors, and adding value and tint to create special effects! This will provide a nice base of color knowledge to be built upon in future art classes. Who knows where the next Monet may be found!
