This project requests a variety of coding programs and games including an Osmo Genius Kit, Ozobot Starter Packs, Code & Go Robot Mouse Activity Sets, a Bloxels: Build Your Own Video Game, and a Think & Learn Code-a-Pillar Toy. Having coding devices will allow differentiated learning in the library. The devices will be used in whole group instruction, centers and as part of a STEM lesson. Students will also work in cooperative groups to logically navigate the Ozobot, Code-a-Pillar Toy, and Code & Go Robot Mouse. Another initiative is for upper grade students to design their own video game using Bloxels. Recently, we participated in a nation wide coding program that sparked an interest in many students. These requested technology devices will expand student knowledge in the Computer Science field for 21st century learning. All diverse learners will benefit from the coding. As we are teaching for the future, my project will make a difference because students will be exposed to Computer Science at a young age. Our library is not yet at the level of technologically to meet their needs as learners. This grant will help to close that gap just a little bit more.
