In my classroom we experiment with sound as a part of music and use sound to integrate other subjects. We use instruments to create sound effects with stories, to play games from other countries, to memorize our math facts and to generally discover the world around us. Currently, we have a limited number of instruments and most of the instruments in our school have very similar sounds. We need as many different sounds as possible so that we can discover math, science, social studies, and language arts through music. The instruments I have requested will be used to enhance the sound color palate that my students have to create their own pieces of music. These instruments will allow them to use more realistic sounds in their creations so that they can better describe the world around them using sound. Music has already changed many of my student's outlook on school and being provided with quality instruments will only improve their outlook further. Your generous donation will enhance our learning in music and provide a better, more fun, learning foundation in other subjects.
