We are a brand new school, beginning to grow from just kindergarten up to grade 5 over the next few years. My kindergarten classroom has 25 students beginning their lifelong journey of learning. My students come from all socio-economic groups and from a variety of ethnic and linguistic backgrounds. Many of them are learning English as a Second Language (and in our school Spanish as a 3rd or 4th language too!). We teach literacy using the Teacher's College units of study. Students' literacy experiences are authentic and personal as they grow to be lifelong readers and writers. Our school also values rich and authentic mathematics instruction and students also learn about the Engineering Design Process. Our core values of Collaboration, Creativity, and Citizenship guide all of our decision making. We are not preparing out students for "something, we are preparing them for "ANYTHING."
