Access to a listening library would positively impact our students literacy learning experience during the school day. Developing good reading habits is essential in the early elementary years. Listening to audio books will help with our students' ability to read fluently and more efficiently comprehend what they have read. If a students has a strong foundation by the time they reach the 3rd grade it will give them a greater advantage for developing a higher level of comprehension skills. In fact, one in six children who are not reading proficiently in third grade do not graduate from high school on time, a rate four times greater than that for proficient readers. Help me to help my school give students a more rich and engaging reading experience.
