These reading resources will help me to reinforce the strategies utilized to teach students text comprehension and help them to improve their comprehension. The Finding Evidence Comprehension kit will support my instruction and help students to find the evidence and use it effectively. The High Interest intervention Reading Folders will be utilized to focus around a variety of subject interest areas while placing a heavy emphasis on reading non-fiction and developing informational text literacy skills.These materials can also hook those students that are struggling readers be able to and want to read the materials. Utilizing resources that focus on comprehension and intervention strategies can increase both the quantity and the quality of my students' reading. Research states that to become a better reader, students have to read more. I want my students to be able to monitor their comprehension more efficiently and be able to determine what it is they do and do not understand and use appropriate strategies to resolve the problems they are having in comprehension. I would like for my students to have more success with learning so that more learning can be generated.
