Students will use the bulletin board supplies to enhance their classroom environment. Students will curate bulletin boards to create interactive displays for student work in the US History curriculum. Students will create word walls using the movable letters. Students will make a welcoming classroom environment using professional anchor charts and themed borders to cover chipped and run down bulletin boards and blackboards. The bulletin board paper and borders will create a unified backdrop for student work that showcases student writing and projects. The construction paper will be used for countless projects throughout the school year. The Amendment Chart and the Branches of Government Chart reinforce the main ideas of the US History Curriculum and provide visual support for the English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities. Allowing students to curate their own learning environment allows them to take ownership of their learning in every area. They are able to see their own contributions to the class from the moment they walk into the room. Many of my students do not have a home to go to when they leave, so my classroom becomes their home. Having an aesthetically pleasing classroom to come to every day provides a supportive environment for learning to take place. These supplies will help create an environment for learning to happen.
