These materials will be used everyday. The pillows will be used during independent reading time. The whiteboards will be used for whole class instruction. My students are especially fond of using whiteboards for literacy (such as practicing CVC and high frequency words), as well as math fluency (addition, subtraction, and story problems). The privacy folders allow testing to occur whole group while obtaining accurate information to inform instruction. My students are motivated by the opportunity to use technology, yet they only get 45 minutes every week in our technology lab. Often, their time in technology is used for testing. The iPad will allow students to learn individually, at their own pace. It will also allow us to connect with other kindergarten classrooms around the world. I believe in the importance of teaching children to be civically-minded.
