My ESL students will be taking the state ELPA21 test this coming winter. This test looks for how well students can Listen, Speak, Write, and Read in English. Many of these students are brand new in the US. The tests is done on computer and requires the student to drag and drop items. This makes the test taking process very difficult for some students who are not used to computers. Many of the students are unable to use the computer without a mouse because for many of them it's the fist time they have ever used a computer. For others they haven't yet developed fine motor skills and this makes dragging and dropping on the pad itself next to impossible.
