These materials will increase engagement and focus in a busy classroom. Students could work on their fluency or writing skills while sitting together. The stools would make peer editing and group collaboration more comfortable with their ever-changing fifth-grade bodies. There are many times my students come to the back table and sit in small groups for teacher led lessons, or they may sit with a group to work on a project. If I had the sturdy stools, kids could sit comfortably while learning and building relationships. Also, the floor mat would provide a unique and visually appealing place to share and start our morning.
