This project will provide my students with engaging, hands-on activities to increase their phonics and decoding skills. My beginning readers will be able to build their word knowledge and see that printed word recognition will account for reading comprehension. These supplies will help my students translate language symbols into sounds and words. The pandemic created a gap that needs more intensified and structured phonics based education and the materials I'm requesting help address that need. I can't wait to see my first graders grow and develop into life long readers.
