Morning Meeting promotes movement around the classroom and is a stupendous location to inspire, encourage, discover, connect, support, direct positive behaviors, and identify students who may need an ACE, as well as, spark conversations between myself and students or between students at a later time. In building connections, the hope is that any student who has had any sort of struggle or trauma, can find comfort from their classmates, feel confident and reassured in how they may have handled or would handle certain situations. Morning Meeting on a rug, sitting close with teacher and classmates, is a terrific location for students to learn how to hold responsible, respectful conversations. The carpet that is included in this project will be a comfortable outlined area for Morning Meetings, math talks, and/or any other class meetings.
