The iPad pro comes equipped with assistive technologies to help students with special needs experience the power and simplicity of iOS. It is well-positioned for children like mine with vision, hearing, physical and motor difficulties. They will have switches, apps, software and sensory facilitation through the iPad Pro laptop, which is not available through my Windows-based school district. Many of the universal design features built into Apple hardware and software offer simple but powerful ways to support my students' needs, both in classrooms and during our sessions for occupational therapy. The Apple Pencil will provide the ability for students to harness relevant skills in their motor programs in a motivating way. This iPad Pro laptop will allow my students, teachers, peers, and others the ability to use Apple technology to make a difference for students with sensory and learning disabilities. Moreover, the students using this device will be able to self-report their achievements and track their goals as they progress- all on the same device!
