I believe in being precise and what better way to be precise then to have a carbon copy of what you're talking about at the time of discussion. So far this year, my students had to wait a few classes on me to make copies of their syllabus while other reinforcing worksheets never even made it to them. By the time my number in line was called to get my copies processed, the students had already forgotten about the syllabus and everything that was in it. To copy at our school, you have to wait in line amongst numerous teachers and there is a limited amount of times that you could make copies per week or month. With the HP Officejet All-in-One printer, the students and myself will worry no more. Printing, scanning and faxing can all be done at the same time it is needed. If and when the students participate in a literary assignment such as creating a newsletter, the newsletters can be printed as soon as they are done being composed. Having the work printed on the day that they are discussed also serves as a sense of encouragement for the students. It doesn't make them feel good when they have to wait a few days or in some cases, a few weeks. In addition, I have included a 60-minute timer in which I can use in the classroom to execute precision during working or testing periods. Often times when students are told they have 20 minutes to complete an assignment, they can lose track of time or even get distracted halfway through because they think they have a lot of time left. However, with the timer, students will know exactly how much time they have left. This is also good test taking practice for the students.
