The items I have selected to incorporate STEM related activities into the classroom, will not only foster an environment where the children can use their creativity to critically think about a learning task, but these items will also allow the children to learn how to problem solve, when their original idea does not work out the way they anticipated. The donations from this project will allow the children ample time to develop the life skills of perseverance, collaboration, and critical thinking. The Ozobots will not only introduce the world of coding to these young learners, they will also help the children develop fine motor skills, hone in on their creativity, problem solve, learn cause and effect. The children will be able to work with patterns, develop and expand on their language skills and allow them to work with a team. The large wooden blocks will encourage social interactions, gross motor development, imagination, and engineering. They will allow the children hands on experience with shapes, lines, and gravity. The Osmo Wonder Kits will allow the iPads to come to life. The children will be able to interact with physical objects while using the iPads to learn about coding, literacy, and math.
