Students in my classroom come from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Last year, students were entirely virtual so they did not have much access to diverse books. With these books, students will have the opportunity to read texts that are "mirrors" to their own life experiences as well as "windows" to experiences that are different and unfamiliar to them. My goal is to provide a classroom library full of culturally responsive books to support students in developing their identity as third graders. I want to nourish a love of reading with my English learners!

About my class
