Once a week, my students are engaged in art lessons based on common core and professional artists. All my students look forward to this time and are always anxious to get started! Often times, we start an art project with pencil but our pencil sharpeners don't work efficiently so it slows down our timing. First graders need proper paper to work on, otherwise, white construction paper bleeds through and leaks on our tables. The best solution is to have a working sharpener, art paper, boards to paint on, and smocks so students don't exit school with paint smudges on themselves. This donation of paper, boards, sharpener, and smocks will allow projects to be showcased without damage or mess. I've used clay in my class for art and the kids LOVE it! I've made it with salt dough but the final project seems to crack and break. This sturdy mud clay will be a fabulous way to make our coil pots as we study cultures around the world. I know my students are ready to get started; thanks!
