As I was preparing to become a classroom teacher over ten years ago, my motivation was to be an agent for change and to make a difference in the lives of my students. My philosophy of teaching is a synthesis of things learned from books, from life experiences, and from practical experience in the classroom. Equity for all students is a driving force for me to continue my own learning so I can help change education so every student has an equal access to good teachers and rigorous curriculum for success. Books should be a resource that is readily available to all students. My students will use these leveled books in our classroom library to improve their accuracy and comprehension skills.
