The bookmark times will allow each student to build their reading stamina based on their individual needs. These bookmark times will allow the student to be in control of their own reading goals. Building reading stamina is a big area of focus in 2nd grade. I want students to read for longer periods of time and enjoy the variety of books they choose. Each student will use their timer during independent reading at school and home. I believe these bookmark timers will get the students excited about reading longer since it's on their own time! Please support my students be the "turtle" in the reading race...taking their time to become longer, meaningful readers!
