The beginning of the year should not begin with falling short on SUPPLIES NEEDED to achieve success. Students know they are loved and cared for when they know their teacher has their back. It doesn't matter if mom did not get everything on the list. They are confident that their teacher will fill the void. Chair organizers, pencil sharpeners, and printer ink may not seem like much. The light that goes on in their eyes as it spreads to their whole face is priceless! When they see their desk area neat with supplies their name on their chair organizer. Color pictures in which to write a prompt from, pencils sharpened and ready to capture their thoughts and record their ideas. This is how we begin to bridge gaps and build relationships that make a difference.
