Your support will help each student find the artist within and guide them toward self-expression, agency, emotion regulation, and demonstrating what healthy flexibility and resiliency look like in the challenges my students are persevering through. The ArtReach program will enrich the virtual class experience for both my students and I. The program goal is to help every student learn art skills, art vocabulary and to feel empowered to access their unique creativity. The program will focus on helping each young artist find a personal artistic voice and learn to grow confident in facing artistic challenges. In light of the Covid-19 Pandemic and a shift to virtual and distance learning, the ArtReach program is committed to delivering Social Emotional Learning and Wellness to all of my 4th-5th grade students. Supported Learning Goals: Social Emotional Learning, Health and Wellness, Art History, Diversity and Inclusion. Diversity and Inclusion are demonstrated through exposure to local, historical, and contemporary BIPOC artists whose art fits the context of what our young artists are living through and learning to process during these challenging times. We hope to provide 21st century learners space to practice expression, emotion regulation, and resiliency through Active Engagement, Assertiveness, Belonging and Reflection.
