Our school is 60% free and reduced lunch, therefore, students do not have access to materials necessary to track health and fitness. With the utilization of the Fit-bit tracker, students will learn how to participate in a lifetime of physical fitness. Physical activity has a positive effect on learning therefore, students will have greater success if they have tools necessary to set goals and increase activity time. Using the Fit-bits, students will be participating in goal setting during physical education class to assess their fitness level, therefore, increasing knowledge of physical fitness and to learn how to maintain a lifetime of physical fitness. If students reach these physical activity goals, they will receive awards from the physical education teacher. Furthermore, using the Fit-bit trackers, mathematics will be integrated into the physical education curriculum. Integrating mathematics into the physical education curriculum can further improve the child's overall education.
