We are a brand new school of grades infant to eighth grade. Today's students are less active but more in need of movement than ever before. We have cut down on time allowed for movement due to pressure to perform on required standards. Did you know that low back pain is the most common disorder? One of the major causes of back pain is sitting. Today more people work seated than any other position. People sit to eat, sit to drive, sit at work, sit on the bus ride home, sit to eat dinner and sit in front of a TV until they go to bed. That's a lot of sitting! Any teacher would be settling for less if they are not willing to explore any option to keep their classrooms engaged. Stability balls give us the edge to keep all children learning. Therefore, No Child is Left Behind!" I teach 2nd grade and we have tile floors which gets marked up by the metal feet on the chairs. The balls with feet will let the kids use muscles to stay balanced.
