Doing small group rotations are an everyday part of reading and math. The students are divided by ability and rotate through three rotations in math. While I am intensely working with one group, a second group is working on seat work and a third group is engaged in iPad games. The iPad gives the students a chance to build on the math concepts taught through engaging games and websites such as ABCya!, Starfall.com and other math game apps provided by the county. There is also an app called flip grid where I can create a video lesson and the students will need to complete a task. This app has proven to be very engaging and has helped my students master their math skills. Rotations are very similar in reading, however; the students are using the iPads to practice their phonics skills through online games and apps or they are listening to stories through storyline online or epic books. Reading books online is not only very engaging for my students but it also teaches them to read with expression and fluency.
