My kids are creative and kind. They need an outlet to explore where art, math and science can intersect. Students will use the paper and colored pencils to plan a raised bed vegetable garden. They will need to demonstrate a working understanding of companion planting and actively use measurement for placement of plants. The elements and principles of art and design will be key in planning a colorful garden for future harvest. Students will plan a visibly pleasing and climate appropriate garden to be harvested late summer early fall. Learning about and planning a home garden will allow students to carry with and continuously apply math, science and art in their real lives.
