The sensory tools such as the therapy putty and links will be used by the students in the therapy sessions as well as be available to them at all times when they need to go into the calming room and use them for support in de-escalation. The rug and posters will be used as a nice addition to the room to make it more welcoming as there is currently nothing on the walls and the room is pretty bare. The CBT game and Mindfulness, as well as the other SEL activity will be used to work with the students in whole group to develop strategies and more appropriate coping skills and ways to de-escalate, as well as problem solve.
