The scholars I teach are resilient and strong. They attend a charter school in Louisiana and come from families with low incomes. Although they face many obstacles in their communities such as violence, poverty, and crime, they are not defined by these issues. Because of a failing school system and a natural disaster, many are significantly behind academically. The children now attend a school committed to educating them in a safe, nurturing environment. Families, staff, and scholars stand together in our commitment to educate scholars for success in college and life.

About my class
