I teach Fourth Grade in St. Paul. My classroom is diverse socially, academically, emotionally and physically. Living in the inner city most of them do not have the resources to learn at home. The school I work at does not have the money to give to teachers to buy some of the necessary items needed in the classroom. I find myself spending money on pencils, glue, paper, notebooks and even childrens books for reading. I would really like some fun, new, fresh learning games, math manipulatives and materials to help with testing. I would like to tap into their curiosity about the world around them by purchasing a subscription to a student weekly magazine. This would also expand their reading and enhance classroom discussions.
