I am a first year teacher in the Clark County School District (one of the largest in the country) and I need some basics for my classroom that are eating away at my personal funds including white board markers, poster markers, and books. The books I have chosen are books I know well and love, and will be able to pull off the shelf at any given time and guarantee my student has a great book in their hand. The markers are for posters and presentations we give throughout the year. My students light up whenever they get markers in their hand, and I try and integrate art into my lessons as much as possible as my school doesn't currently have an art class or program. The white board markers are both for me, to write out the daily schedule on the board, and for a "White Board Review" game that we play that has the students working in groups, discussing the material, and running up to the board to write answers. When we play this game the white board markers are often done by the end of 6th period.
