After reading nonfiction literature my students will use these materials to create stop action movies that retell or explain the topics covered in the books. Using this visual and hands-on approach to retelling, my students will be able to share what they know in a way that is engaging and fun. Each item I am requesting has a specific purpose for this yearlong project. The Hue Animation Studio will be used to capture the movies my students create. "Brick Flicks" will be used as a non-fiction reading assignment to prepare the students for the challenge of creating their own Lego Movie. The book, "Mission: Mars" will be also be used for nonfiction reading lessons. The students will take what they learn from about space exploration from the book to create their own Mars Exploration movies. The Legos will be used to create people, buildings, vehicles and anything the students dream up for their movies. And finally the movie set clapboard will just make recording their movies more fun! Your generous donation to our project will improve my middle school classroom by building stronger readers, writers, creators, and presenters. These materials will have such an incredible positive impact on student learning. They will love coming to English class and discover a new way to present and share what they know. Thank you for considering to fund my project!
