Because I have transitioned to a new school, I was forced to give up my laptop that I used to teach my students during distant learning. With no access to technology, I need to make sure that I am equipped with a device that supports the online learning platforms that Baltimore City Public Schools uses to deliver the best online instruction to my students.
This project will give me the opportunity to build healthy relationships with my students and their families remotely and provide summer learning opportunities; especially, since it's not guaranteed that I will meet them in person come September. Using this device, my students can virtually meet with me over the summer and receive tutoring in math and reading to keep their minds engaged in learning. Students can engage in educational games and in mini-lessons that will prepare them for the upcoming school year.
Upon our return to the classroom, my students can use this device to create videos and other engaging projects. With an amazing feature of dual screen, my students can independently engage in mini-lessons that I prepare on the device, while I work with students in small groups. Lastly, with the ability to turn into a tablet, I can model to my students how to use certain tools and features that will prepare them for statewide exams and 21st century skills.
