My name is Mrs. Carpenter. This is my second year teaching. I teach 20 wonderful 2nd graders who love to be engaged and work hard to be empowered. I use learning tools consistently in many ways each day. I love using white boards to engage each student during my lessons. The use of white boards really helps gain their attention, peak curiosity, and find interest in everything I teach. I also use many math tools like clocks, base 10 block, and money to teach second grade content. Math tools allow for exploration in math through a hands-on approach. This promotes higher order thinking and helps take their learning to the next level. Through the use of data binders, explicit instruction, and teaching every student to be a leader, I hope to prepare each student for the future.
