I love to read. I have always loved to read and found it to be an escape for me growing up. Like many of my students I grew up in a low income, single family home. I found that books were a great way for me to experience things I might not otherwise experience and learn about things that I may have never had the chance to be exposed to. My students deserve to have every chance to grow and have exposure to many different things. I want to encourage my kids to read and hopefully make them want to read. Third grade is a crucial year for students and reading. I believe that having a variety of different books available to my students will encourage them to read more, help them become better readers, and build a love for reading. I also believe that chapter books will help build reading stamina that will help them when it comes to testing. My kids deserve the best!
