The iPads and keyboards are essential for our classroom because my students need to be developing 21st century skills, collaborating, and engaging with curriculum in new and exciting ways. In order to build a classroom of college and career ready learners, I need to prepare them for our technology driven world. Students will practice typing skills with the keyboards, which would allow us to conference and revise writing together. Students can also peer edit using this technology, which is one of many ways these iPads will help us collaborate. These iPads will be used to encourage the curiosity of my self-guided and eager learners. Our grade level is beginning to integrate Google Classroom into our instruction. iPads will help us use this great resource in the most effective way. Finally, I hope that iPads will give my students the freedom to explore and learn more about their specific interests. This will continue to encourage their self-motivation and lead to inquiry based projects in the classroom.
