Our school has not had a functional library in over ten years. As a newly appointed math teacher, I want to be able to expose my students to a wide variety of strong math literature and resources right in our own classroom. Through the funding of this project, my students will have access to a wide variety of mathematics literature and resources that will help to extend their learning and add to their knowledge of how numbers function. These resources will provide students of all levels opportunities to stretch their math brains and think about doing math in non traditional ways. Students will be able to solve math riddles on their own, create math enrichment projects, and extend their math vocabulary upon having access to these wide variety of math resources. The items listed in this project such as books on math puzzles, games, and mysteries will engage students in looking at numbers from different angles. The math manipulatives such as the geometric fold-ables will give students concrete examples of looking at 3-D objects in a more realistic way. Any finally the math vocabulary card set will reinforce important math terms in an interactive word wall that will allow students to review and study words in groups or on their own.
