Basic materials such as an inviting rug space, group table, and magnetic easel will aid in differentiated instruction. My students are active and need to transition back and forth between their desks and an inviting community center. Having students work together in a community space is far more conducive to conversation and English Language Development. Having a small group table will help me work with students who need more support with reading and language development. Using a rolling easel will allow students to take on more classroom leadership and increase their engagement in our lessons. All of the materials listed in this project are interdisciplinary materials. They are essential for learning in all areas from new STEM practices, to common core mathematics and discussion-based learning. When granted a positive and enriching learning environment, students are more likely to feel successful and excited to come to school.
