As a first year Kindergarten teacher I am absolutely thrilled to guide my learners onto their pathway to becoming writers and readers! My students are already so proud of how far they have come this first month in their writing, and it is ready for them to start learning the tools to become exceptional readers! This year, we will be part of the school-wide implementation of Lucy Calkins' Reading and Writing Units of Study, so the Books on Wheels Mobile Library will be the home to our leveled library where students will shop for their "just right" books. I cannot wait to get the library set up so I can start teaching them how to find books that will help them grow! Our class also needs some supplies and tools to make each day an exciting adventure in learning. They will enjoy using their new lapboards, markers and erasers. Please help my kindergarten students begin their school career positively! Donations to this project will help students start off the year reading, writing, drawing, and feeling empowered in their new learning environment.
