History is all about interpreting events using all kinds of primary and secondary sources. I structure my class so that my students and I have a discussion around history instead of me lecturing to them. Having an interactive whiteboard and a document camera will make facilitating those discussion much easier. History is all about interpretation. If a student can come up and show their thinking using the specific document or map we are discussing then their peers can understand other perspectives. By seeing other perspectives students will be able to make connections that they may not have made before. To be able to interact with sources this way will facilitate much richer discussions in my classroom.
