Because most of my students do not speak English as their first language, reading can be hard. That is why it is important to foster a love of reading at an early age. We cannot teach students to love to read if we do not have books they can read. This can be harder than it sounds. Giving these students books and reading activities on their reading level will give them the opportunity to learn to love reading. Students will be able to walk into my class and choose from more than just one book on their level. Let's ignite this passion for reading together.
