One of the many areas my students struggle in is being engaged because behaviors are such a big issue. I struggled as a first year teacher in the city because I did not have the materials and resources I needed. These students are very attention driven and are constantly on the go. By the end of last year I found what works for these students. With these new games and manipulatives my students will find learning more fun and enjoyable. My students have little to no support at home as far as academics. It's a good day when someone shows up to school with a pencil! Therefore, I go through a ton of supplies. In order for my students to perform the best they can, I have to provide all school supplies for my students with my own money. These students are so far behind in reading because of the lack of support at home and these sight word games and flash cards will be a huge support in my classroom.
