Mathematics is a language that many students struggle to speak and this stems from their lack of understanding of vocabulary and notation. These concepts are crucial for student achievement, especially with the current focus on high stakes testing. I strongly believe that students shortcomings on state tests are because they simply do not understand what the question is asking. By acquiring the geometry word wall posters from Nasco, students will be able to strengthen their vocabulary with graphical representations that are perfect for visual learners. If my students' eyes are wandering during class, why not have them wander to something that can assist in their academic success!
