I would like to give my students opportunities to engage in interesting and engaging science material by providing them engaging science novels. A goal of mine this year is to celebrate reading in science and show students the importance of reading in all facets of life. By creating a science library, I will be able to give students choices in how they interact with reading and science topics, thus giving students ownership of their education experience. For the past couple of years we have also been developing our garden, creating a space for peacefulness on campus. We have just built a grape arbor, planted a few trees and will start planting some winter vegetables in the next couple of weeks. Building of this beautiful space has not only given students a sense of accomplishment in the creation of it but also a space for relaxation and learning. If we get the supplies listed in this project, I know that we will not only provide the finishing touches to this space but will provide an opportunity for quality engagement in science.
